@Duncan - it is well-known that Rowan stutters and so compensates for this in over-emphasizing certain letters and words. You'll notice this in the most recent interviews in Blackadder Rides Again.
Also, it's Battersea - as in Battersea dogs home.. Batercity sounds amusing though.
